6High Voltage Potential Transformer and Current Transformer
These are special instrument transformers designed and built to measure or sense the voltage and current of medium and high voltage power system. The high voltage potential is fed into potential transformer which subsequently provide a corresponding voltage suitable for instrument such as voltmeter to read out the voltage value or control relay. Similarly, the current transformer is able sense the current in a medium or high voltage system and provide the corresponding voltage suitable for instrument such as ammeter to read out the current value or control relay . The HV potential and current transformer are either oil immersed or cast resin type transformer.
